NBC News and the lie about a five-year-old.
Stories like the one I’m about to post about shouldn’t surprise me, because we know that it’s a common occurrence. But it still does.
NBC ran a story about ICE seizing a five-year-old and used her as bait to get an undocumented father to turn himself in. Sounds horrible, doesn’t it? Well, it happens that the father was being pursued by ICE. He fled the scene and abandoned the five-year-old in the car. ICE STAYED WITH THE GIRL TILL THE POLICE ARRIVED.
Now NBC did correct the story. But they never verified the undocumented parent’s version or even contacted ICE or the police. They just ran with the criminal’s version.
