Homeschooling is booming.

A historically high number of US parents see their kids as too cool for public, private, or charter school and have opted to educate them at home instead.

The number of homeschooled children during the last academic year was 51% higher than in 2017–2018 in states with available info, according to government data crunched by the Washington Post. At the same time, public school enrollment dropped by 4%.

Though homeschooling rates have decreased from pandemic highs, what used to be a niche education arrangement favored mostly by religious parents is now going mainstream nationwide.

  • WaPo’s analysis puts the total number of American kids learning their ABCs at home between 1.9 million and 2.7 million, exceeding the Catholic school student body in the US.
  • The uptick in alternative schooling doesn’t seem to be associated with a low quality of traditional education, as it’s popular in academically high-performing districts as well.

Why has homeschooling gotten so big?

Parents cite several reasons for doubling up as education administrators: schools failing to meet their kids’ unique needs, bullying, and increasing concerns that curricula don’t align with their values. But there are also economic factors at play. Government programs in several states offer parents thousands of dollars’ worth of homeschooling support each year, while nonprofits provide funds to homeschoolers too.

The booming homeschooling rates have created an entire industry catering to parents who don’t want their kids to spend their days waiting for the bell.

  • OutSchool, a platform that allows parents to design bespoke curricula out of crowdsourced classes, has brought in $255 million in VC funding since 2015.
  • Companies like Prenda, which describes itself as an “Airbnb for education,” help parents set up microschools where five to 25 students learn under a supervisor.

While lunch is doubtlessly better at home…many education experts are skeptical that most parents can match the teaching skills of trained teachers. They note that few requirements exist to ensure quality in homeschools, and they worry that homeschooled kids might miss out on formative schoolyard socializing.—SK

Federal Judge Bitch slaps Biden Administration on Texas Wall/Fence.

A federal judge has issued an emergency temporary restraining order against the federal government from taking down razor wire barriers at the border.

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, who took to social media to tout the decision, had asked the judge to take quick action against the “disassembling, degrading, and tampering with” the concertina wire barriers after video came out that U.S. Border Patrol agents were using forklifts and heavy machinery to cut pieces of the razor wire along the Texas/Mexico border.

The razor wire, along with the controversial buoys in the Rio Grande, were installed as part of Governor Greg Abbott’s Operation: Lone Star, which was launched in March 2021 as a border security initiative to help battle the rising border crossings that Gov. Abbott blames on the Biden Administration’s lax immigration policies.

Bad vibes are rippling through the electric car market. Short term some states have seen growth in Electric cars. California uses a phony number because they include hybrids and hydrogen cars. We are seeing warnings from Ford, GM,  Mercedes-Benz , and even Tesla.

What will the recent new UAW contracts do sale and pricing? Ford has announced that they’re holding back on 12 billion in new investments. GM is delaying the addition of three new brands and Honda cancelled it’s joint venture with GM.

During an interview with NewsNation’s Elizabeth Vargas aired on Friday’s “Elizabeth Vargas Reports,” 2024 presidential candidate Rep. Dean Phillips (D-MN) stated that while he voted for President Joe Biden’s policies, we do have “a massive” affordability crisis, and “We have a border crisis. We have crime in cities and chaos.”

 “Let me start with affordability, it is a massive crisis in America right now, the cost of living. People’s mortgages are skyrocketing, fuel is too expensive, food is too expensive, health care — if it’s even obtainable — is double the price of anywhere in the world, medicine, three times more than anywhere else in the world.

We are falling behind. American middle-class, hard-working people are not being heard. They are angry, they’re frustrated. And that is job one.

We have a border crisis. We have crime in cities and chaos. We have a federal government that is run so ineffectively and so inefficiently, does not focus on customer service, doesn’t use zero-based budgeting, we don’t have term limits. So, therefore, we have the same people making the same decisions, and often the same mistakes time and time again. I’m making a proposition for change.”

Byron Donald’s Says Possible New Evidence Showing Payments Made on Behalf of Joe Biden to Surface. On Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures” with host Maria Bartiromo, it was revealed that there are more payments that went to Joe.

Congressman Donalds said Oversight Committee is actively finding new evidence of Biden corruption every day.

“Now we’re starting to see the transactions that went to Joe Biden – money actually going into his hands,” Rep. Donalds told Maria Bartiromo. “One of the things that I believe we’re gonna uncover is that there were payments made on behalf of Joe Biden where they didn’t give the money to him, but the money was spent on his behalf.”

“Based on the information provided to my office over a period of years by multiple credible whistleblowers, there appears to be an effort within the Justice Department and FBI to shut down investigative activity relating to the Biden family,” Grassley wrote in a letter to US Attorney General Merrick Garland and FBI Director Christopher Wray. “Such decisions point to significant political bias infecting the decision-making of not only the Attorney General and FBI Director, but also line agents and prosecutors.”

Catherine Herridge, now a reporter for CBS News, was ordered in August to disclose the identity and motive of the source, who provided information about an FBI investigation into a Chinese scientist.

Judge Cooper, an Obama appointee, disagreed and tried to force Herridge to unmask her source.

“The Court recognizes both the vital importance of a free press and the critical role that confidential sources play in the work of investigative journalists like Herridge,” Cooper wrote in the ruling in August. “But applying the binding case law of this Circuit, the Court concludes that Chen’s need for the requested evidence overcomes Herridge’s qualified First Amendment privilege in this case.”

Herridge refused to disclose her source during the deposition and now she faces contempt charges and potential jail time.

Yes Virginia, Emissions in California are getting worse not better. I did an article at breaking news where I sugar coated it so Progressive cultist could understand. Well they just wanted to pretend that facts don’t matter. When ever you give them facts, they go to the 12th paragraph and line 27 and say but it says this. So here in the reality world(not progressives’ wet dreams) are the facts.

Now even a fanatic on the left points out that the state is lying about the real emission numbers in California.

“An increase in emissions is concerning in and of itself, but it’s also important to know that those emissions are underestimates to begin with,” she said. “So the fact that they’re increasing is doubly worrying, if we’re thinking about our progress as a state addressing climate change.”

In the last five years, the yearly increase in carbon dioxide levels accelerated to about 2.4 ppm per year from an average rate of 1.6 ppm per year over the past 6 decades.

Here’s the bottom line. The earth is not in great danger the way the left claims. But California with it’s strict rules and guidelines still can’t control nature.

Actually what happened was that the US Attorney gave it to Barr who passed it on to the Investigation being done by the US Attorney in Delaware. Here’s what the US Attorney out of Pittsburgh said about Raskin’s comments.

Brady was asked about Raskin’s characterization of his team’s work, he described it as “not true.” He added that he and his team found there to be sufficient “indicia of credibility in this 1023 to pass it on to an office that had a predicated grand jury investigation.”

He said, “I think they were very concerned about any information sharing with our office,” and noted that “it was regularly a challenge to interact with the investigative team from Delaware.”
