Mark it down. October 18th is National Insurrection Day.
Sure, the left is claiming that “No Kings” protest brands itself as a defense of democracy, its rhetoric and timing raise serious questions about its true aims and consequences.
1. Weaponizing Symbolism, Not Solving Problems The protest’s name evokes the American Revolution, but its targets are elected officials, not monarchs. If the concern is executive overreach, where is the call for congressional accountability or judicial restraint? Selective outrage isn’t principled—it’s partisan.
2. Undermining Institutions While Claiming to Defend Them You can’t claim to “defend democracy” while simultaneously:
Calling for mass firings of federal employees based on political affiliation
Disrupting public services during a government shutdown
Labeling dissenters as fascists or enemies of the people
That’s not civic engagement—it’s ideological coercion.
3. The Real Threat to Democracy: Mob Rule Masquerading as Morality When protests become litmus tests for patriotism, we’ve crossed into dangerous territory. The First Amendment protects protest, but it doesn’t sanctify it. A movement that tolerates “F‑‑‑ Trump” signs while decrying “hate speech” elsewhere isn’t defending free speech—it’s monopolizing it.
4. Americans Deserve Substance, Not Spectacle People care about:
Rising healthcare costs
Local job security
Energy affordability
Border stability
How does a protest in D.C. chanting “No Kings” help a single working family? It doesn’t. It distracts.
5. A Better Way Forward Instead of performative outrage, let’s demand:
The Party of Hate and Violence. By Blaine L. Pardoe
I live in Virginia which means I, like my fellow Virginians, are in the midst of our gubernatorial race. This weekend, we and the rest of the country got a good view of a deep-seated problem in politics in this state. Jay Jones, a Democrat running for the Attorney General position this fall, was exposed for the radical that he truly is. As we all read the hate-filled messages, we also took note of the milquetoast response by the Left.
For those of you that may missed it, Jay Jones called for death of Republican House of Delegates leader Todd Gilbert, literally fantasizing about shooting him in the head. He further desired that Gilbert’s wife and children would die, and even went so far as to express his desire to “piss on their graves” of Gilbert and other Republicans. This, in the same week the Jones was convicted of speeding at 116 miles per hour, something he called, “a mistake.”
This is a Democrat running to be the top law enforcement official in the state.
It should come as no surprise. Abigail Spanberger has been encouraging voters to embrace their “rage” and let it “fuel” them. In her comments about Jones, she expressed disappointment, but did not call for him to step down. Jones offered a half-hearted apology, then used his apology to rant about Donald Trump. To date, the Democrats, while saying they are saddened by these comments, still embrace Jay Jones as their candidate.
The media went into protection mode. The “piss on their graves” comment was omitted from most reports. One CBS TV station WTVR out of Richmond, claimed that references to the texts that Jones posted were “accusations,” despite the fact Jones had admitted they were indeed his. The Washington Post said that controversy “roiled” the election, glossing over the heinous nature of what Jones had posted. As usual, the legacy media moved into a cover-up mode, downplaying the text messages or simply not reporting them.
We saw similar behavior in the wake of the assassination of Charlie Kirk. From the Democratic politicians; a momentary announcement of shock, followed by the same rage/hate filled rhetoric that led to such acts. From the media, distortions and outright coverup.
For the first time, they are showing themselves for what they are and what they desire. Coexistence and cooperation is not possible with a political party that wants you dead. Spanberger’s evasiveness in light of the Jones texts tells you a great deal about her. Many of her followers are posting they support Jones even more. This highlights that her message of rage and hate is playing well with her base. In this post Kirk-era, one would think they would tone down their messaging. Not Spanberger. In fact, not any of the Dems running for office. Their solution to the Jay Jones problem, run pro-abortion ads. It’s like a broken record of the last four election cycles.
We are dealing with a political party that has embraced violence since 2020. Look at the recent riots in LA, Portland, and Chicago. When the Left doesn’t get its way, they openly encourage confrontation. They are playing a game of blackmail, offering to stop rioting if ICE simply ignores federal law. These would be the same people that would turn around and impeach President Trump if he bent the knee to their demands. There is no satisfying a political party that embraces violence.
In any other period in our history, Jay Jones would have stepped down in shame as both parties called for him to do so. While the Democrats are pretending to be shocked, none of their candidates are calling for Jones to give up the race. They are more than willing to put an emotionally unstable lawbreaker into office… anything other than a Republican.
With early voting already underway, it is difficult to say whether the Jones controversy will cost the Left the election. It should. One thing is for sure, it is firing up conservatives in the state. Slowly the message is getting out about Jones and it should be an albatross around the neck of Abigail Spanberger for her lack of leadership. As she has trumpeted about fueling rage, we are getting a good glimpse of what her administration would have in store for Republicans.
Virginia deserves better… much better than the Democratic Party in our fine state. So does the rest of America.
Blaine Pardoe is a New York Times Bestselling and award-winning author canceled by one of his publishers in 2022. His conservative political thriller series, Blue Dawn, is the story of the violent overthrow of the government by radical progressives.
California Governor Gavin Newsom (D) erupted in anger on Sunday in response to President Donald Trump ordering three hundred California National Guard troops to be deployed to Portland, Oregon, a day after a federal judge blocked him from federalizing Oregon National Guard troops to help defend the ICE facility in Portland from Democrat-protected Antifa terrorists who have waged a violent siege all summer long.
BREAKING: We’re suing Donald Trump.
His deployment of the California National Guard to Oregon isn’t about crime.
It’s about power.
He is using our military as political pawns to build up his own ego.
The past couple days the leftists have been rioting in LA because ICE has come to town to clean out a den of hard-core criminals. For some reason they think that attacking federal agents is the right thing to do. Take a look at the videos and statements below. You be the judge.
Officials from the Service Employees International Union said in a statement that its California president, David Huerta, was detained and injured during a downtown raid “while exercising his First Amendment right to observe and document law enforcement activity.” What they leave out is that he stood in front of and blocked a vehicle leaving. A vehicle carrying criminals.

On Friday, the Department of Justice (DOJ), Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Department of Education (ED), and the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) announced the immediate rescinding of $400 million in federal grants and contracts to Columbia University citing “inaction in the face of persistent harassment of Jewish students” by the university.
Nothing about the vice president’s sudden elevation felt organic.
How ironic is it that the muscle of the Democratic party has turned on them?
Black Lives Matter, the insidious Marxist organization Democrats used to foment violence during the race-mongering madness of 2020, has issued a public objection to party leaders’ swift coronation of Vice President Kamala Harris as their 2024 presidential nominee.
“Following the primary where millions of black voters weighed in, after one poor debate performance, the DNC Party elites and billionaire donors bullied Joe Biden out of the race,” BLM said in a statement to Reuters.
Sunday on X, President Joe Biden (supposedly) announced that he would withdraw from the 2024 presidential race.
The announcement came under unusual and perhaps suspicious circumstances. Since his dreadful debate performance on June 27, Biden had faced mounting pressure to quit the race from fellow Democrats. He had refused.
Announcing the decision on X, where one might reasonably doubt that the octogenarian president has ever posted on his own behalf, only heightened suspicions of a Democratic Party coup.
For the past two days, Democrats — including Biden himself in a dubious endorsement made via speaker phone — have rallied around Harris. Still, nothing about the vice president’s sudden elevation has felt organic.
Notwithstanding these strange developments, Democrats have clearly tried to depict their party as united behind Harris.
BLM’s public objection, therefore, constitutes the first major internal demand that Democrats pump the brakes on the Harris 2024 train.
“We call for the Rules Committee to create a process that allows for public participation in the nomination process, not just a nomination by party delegates,” the BLM statement read.
Indeed, it appears that Democrats — the so-called “party of democracy” — have failed to pull the proverbial wool over BLM’s eyes.
“The current political landscape is unprecedented, with President Biden stepping aside in a manner never seen before. This moment calls for decisive action to protect the integrity of our democracy and the voices of black voters,” the statement said.
To its credit, BLM called out party leaders’ apparent coup against Biden.
“Now, Democratic Party elites and billionaire donors are attempting to manipulate black voters by anointing Kamala Harris and an unknown vice president as the new Democratic ticket without a primary vote by the public,” the statement continued.
Also to its credit, BLM appeared unmoved by the argument that race and gender should take precedence over other factors.
“We have no idea where Kamala Harris stands on the issues, now that she has assumed Joe Biden’s place, and we have no idea of the record of her potential vice president because we don’t even know who it is yet,” the statement read.
Apart from its nauseating emphasis on skin color, the BLM statement contained nothing to which reasonable Americans should object.
On balance, of course, BLM has not exactly earned the benefit of the doubt from conservative or right-leaning voters.
Perhaps, therefore, it is best to take direction from the late former President Herbert Hoover.
On Sept. 16, 1941 — nearly three months after Adolf Hitler stabbed fellow tyrant Joseph Stalin in the back by ordering German forces to attack the Soviet Union — Hoover urged his fellow Americans to stay out of the European conflict.
“The fratricidal war between Hitler and Stalin is daily weakening both dictators,” Hoover argued.
That pre-Pearl Harbor assessment from a former president contained wisdom applicable to present circumstances. And conservatives should heed that wisdom.
After all, if BLM launches a civil war against fellow tyrants in the Democratic Party leadership, then who could complain? In that case, conservatives must stand aside and allow the conflict to weaken everyone involved.
While it would be fun to see happen, more BLM/Antifa violence and destruction will simply cost all of us more money. –TPR
Where is he when we needed him? Mayor Daley would put the Hamas folks in their place. OK so he rigged elections. But when heads needed to be cracked and the crowd needed to be dispersed he was the man who got things done.
The pro Hamas crowd wouldn’t know what hit them. Would this type of crowd dispersal end up in the courts? Of course they would. But I would be willing to bet that this would deter many of these folks to think twice before they riot again.
