My social medicine fix for healthcare.

OK so I’m going to be labeled a socialist because my fix would be mandatory. And if it works, who cares?

Number 1. All companies big and small must offer Health Insurance. This includes all religious organizations and for profit and nonprofit groups.

Number 2. If a company uses 1099 independent contractors, then those contractors must be offered health insurance.

Number 3. No more just showing up at the ER (UNLESS IN AN AMBULANCE). All those on Medicare and Medicaid have six months to pick a family doctor. If they don’t pick one, one is assigned.

Number 4. All insurance companies start a pool of offering free schooling to those who go into the medical field.

Number 5. All insurance plans including Medicare offer Dental, Eyeglasses, and Hearing aids.

Admin Announces New Medicaid Drug-Pricing Program. Let’s see if this works.

If the drug companies go along, this would be awesome. Let’s see.

The U.S. government on Thursday announced a new program aimed at lowering prescription drug costs for Medicaid patients by linking prices to those paid in other countries.

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services said the program, called the GENEROUS Model, will allow states to buy certain medications at prices similar to those in select other countries. The program is set to begin in 2026.

“Drug prices in the U.S. remain far too high,” said Abe Sutton, director of the CMS Innovation Center. The program aims to ensure Medicaid pays prices on par with other developed nations, he said.

Nevada DHHS Specialist Caught on Camera Admitting to “Bending the Rules” to Provide Benefits for the Undocumented.

Recently a state employee in Nevada was caught on camera bragging about getting benefits that were not allowed for illegals.

When confronted with a video of his comments, Deshaun Mack said, “I say a lot of things that I don’t mean” and eventually admitted, “I lie all the time.” He suggested he may have exaggerated to impress the undercover journalist, saying, “Absolutely,” when asked if that was the reason for his comments. Despite the specificity of his original statements, Mack ultimately claimed, “None of those words I said were true.”

SNAP, Social Security, and Medicaid, are next on the list for DOGE. This will have many on the left upping the meds.  “According to the GAO’s own figures, there’s anywhere from $230 billion to $520 billion in fraudulent payments in [social welfare] programs across the board. So, the money is there if it’s looked at.”

Going after fraud in programs such as Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, and SNAP is not the same thing as “cutting benefits,” as Elon Musk and the Trump administration have tried to stress. Politically, Democrats see a potential wedge issue if they can persuade large numbers of Americans that their benefits will be cut. That was, for example, the reason Texas Democratic Rep. Al Green yelled at President Trump during his recent address to Congress, for which he was censured the next day.

Fraud is always a problem in government social welfare programs.
