How is this legal? Long Beach city council goes after the grocery stores.

How is this legal? Long Beach city council goes after the grocery stores. How do you put people out of work? You pass a law that forces companies to pay an additional $4.00 an hour. But only companies that have 300 or more employees nationwide.

Ralphs and Food 4 Less, both owned by the parent company Kroger, announced Monday that they will be closing 25% of their stores in Long Beach after the city council passed an ordinance requiring companies with over 300 employees nationwide to pay employees an extra $4 per hour.

The California Grocers Association also has filed a lawsuit against the city, claiming the ordinance is unconstitutional because it skirts a collective bargaining agreement between supermarket companies and unionized workers. A hearing is scheduled for February 19.

“Extra pay mandates will have severe unintended consequences on not only grocers, but on their workers and their customers,” said Ron Fong, the trade group’s president and CEO, said in a statement to CBS MoneyWatch.

A Republican in Democrat clothing? Senator Joe getting his way.

A Republican in Democrat clothing? Senator Joe getting his way. Right now Manchin may be the only one who can stop or slow Biden down. He’s not supporting the crazy amounts the left is throwing around. So he says. All the Republicans need is one person to bring the 1.9 trillion attack on America and Joe just may be that person.

Sen. Joe Manchin has taken aim at fellow Democrat Vice President Kamala Harris over the administration’s approach to pushing its Covid-19 relief plan.

The West Virginia moderate, a key swing vote in an evenly divided Senate, blasted Harris’ appearance on a local TV station after she spoke about how the proposed relief is a “big issue” to his constituents.

Manchin, who is considered a key swing vote in the chamber where the partisan balance hangs at an even 50-50, promised that Republicans would have input in passing additional relief legislation.

Give me your questions if you want to play with me. Biden Staff Press screening Psaki Press Briefing Questions

Give me your questions if you want to play with me. Biden Staff Press screening Psaki Press Briefing Questions. So if you want to be called on you should warn the Biden folks of what you’re going to ask?

According to three sources with knowledge of the matter, as well as written communications reviewed by The Daily Beast, the new president’s communications staff have already on occasion probed reporters to see what questions they plan on asking new White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki when called upon during briefings.

One reporter raised the issue during an informal White House Correspondents Association Zoom call last Friday. According to multiple sources, leaders at the meeting advised print reporters to push back against requests by the White House press team to learn of questions in advance, or simply to not respond to the Biden team’s inquiries.

Was it really that long ago that Democrats represented the working man and woman? Ohio Dem says many in party ‘can’t understand’ working-class concerns

Was it really that long ago that Democrats represented the working man and woman? Ohio Dem says many in party ‘can’t understand’ working-class concerns. Here’s what’s scary. Tell me what this means.

Of the top 20 wealthiest districts, 19 are represented by Democrats. Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-Calif.) district is the fourth-richest in the nation, according to Kaptur’s data.

Democrats also dominate the upper half of the nation’s districts by a clear margin, with the bottom half disproportionately choosing Republicans as their members of Congress.

Appalled when a fellow Democrat said this to Congresswoman Kaptur.

A Democratic colleague of Rep. Marcy Kaptur (D-Ohio) recently suggested a simple solution to the economic problems afflicting the industrial Midwest.

“ ‘Well, Congresswoman Kaptur, the answer is: Leave,’ ” Kaptur says she was told by the Democratic member, whom she declined to name.

You don’t get to hide under the kitchen table and cry for your mommy. Ohio Judge Rules Against Teachers’ Union, Says CPS Can Resume Blended Learning

You don’t get to hide under the kitchen table and cry for your mommy. Ohio Judge Rules Against Teachers’ Union, Says CPS Can Resume Blended Learning.  A Hamilton County Common Pleas judge has rejected an injunction request against Cincinnati Public Schools. The union representing teachers filed suit last week seeking to delay a return to in-person learning.

The union says 80% of teachers don’t feel safe going back into classrooms without widespread coronavirus vaccination. School district attorney Evan Priestle says that concern isn’t well-founded, quoting a recent study from the CDC.

“As many schools have reopened for in-person instruction in some parts of the U.S. as well as internationally, school-related cases of COVID-19 have been reported but there has been little evidence that schools have contributed meaningfully to increased community transmission,” he says.

Just because the COVID 19 Lie plays in Chicago and other blue cities and states, the judge wouldn’t let the lie as an excuse in blue CINCINNATI.

How to pay off campaign debt? Use PAC money you said you wouldn’t take.

How to pay off campaign debt? Use PAC money you said you wouldn’t take. Democrat Elaine Lauria said if elected she would not take PAC money for her campaign. She didn’t. She took PAC MONEY TO PAY OFF HER CAMPAIGN DEBT.

The liberal-leaning group End Citizens United, which tracks the lawmakers and candidates who pledge to reject corporate PAC donations, has criticized Luria’s about-face on the matter, as have Republicans.

Tiffany Muller, president and executive director of End Citizens United, said in a statement last year that Luria breaking her pledge “would demonstrate that her values have changed since she’s been in Washington or that she wasn’t sincere to voters in the first place. It will be a heavy burden on her to explain to voters why she is going back on her word.

The fauch strikes again. No Data or Science about wearing two masks.

The fauch strikes again. No data or Science about wearing two masks. Just last Monday the no science guy said wear two masks. well that’s changed. The self proclaimed scientist is now saying that there’s no data or science behind wearing two. The reason why the CDC hasn’t changed the recommendation is that they don’t have the scientific evidence to say that two are better than one.

“There’s nothing wrong with that but there’s no data that indicates that that is going to make a difference,” Fauci said.

Sorry but the man’s a loon. But stay tuned. He may tell us next week to wear  three masks.

Will this be the Savior of the Republican Party in California? Or the next Arnold?

Will this be the Savior of the Republican Party in California? Or the next Arnold? Can the only Republican mayor of a major city save the California Republican party? And save the state from the economic and Covid mess Newsom created?

Former San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer on Monday established a political committee to begin raising money for a possible run for governor, kicking off what could be a tumultuous year in California politics as Gov. Gavin Newsom faces the threat of a recall election.

A Republican hasn’t won a statewide election in the heavily Democratic state since 2006, and registered Democrats outnumber Republicans in California by nearly 2-to-1. But a recall election could attract dozens of candidates who would cut up the vote and lower the percentage needed to win, a scenario that could provide an opening for a Republican candidate in the Democratic-dominated state.

Biden and Friends. Dictators all rule alike.

Biden and Friends. Dictators all rule alike. Joe has friends in high places. Only problem is that those high places are Russia, China, North Korea, and Iran in the near future. Joe’s way out of his league. Sure he’s acted more like a dictator then his old friends. But it will come back to bite him. So let’s see how Joe used his dictatorial powers.

In a matter of hours on his first day, he wiped out 22,000 jobs. By the end of the week he was close to 100K. All with dictatorial executive directives. Not my words but his during the 2020 elections. Now Joe’s friends directly kill folk. Joe works differently. Depression, divorce, job loss, suicide.

How funny is this? Hillary gets behind D R Tim Ryan

How funny is this? Hillary gets behind Dago Red Tim. So Hillary thinks Tim has what it takes. Former Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton threw her support behind Ryan’s possible Senate bid Saturday morning, doing so by quoting a tweet from Kathy DiCristofaro of the Ohio Democratic Party.

The seat is held by Senator Portman who’s retiring. Portman said he made his announcement early to allow Republicans to get ready to campaign in what could be a difficult GOP primary. Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan said he’s not running for the seat, but ex-Ohio treasurer Josh Mandel, author J.D. Vance, and Rep. Steve Stivers are all among potential contenders in a crowded Republican field.

DiCristofaro, who chairs the Dems’ women’s caucus, said the state “needs” people like Ryan who “fight for working people,” and Clinton wholeheartedly agreed.

Maybe Tim can share his recipe with Hillary.
